Melted template

'Melted template', 2017. Adhesive vinyl on window. Espacio Dörffi, Lanzarote

One of the most crucial aspects of Carlo Galli's work is the material he uses to make his compositions. For Medted Melted template (2017) he employed white vinyl, stuck to the window of an art centre, to make a kind of pattern simulating the action of melting. Again the artist uses visually attractive structures that draw spectators' attention only to subsequently strike them with a cold dose of reality. On this occasion, Galli exhibited Arabian latticework built from US made vinyl to discuss cultural conflicts and the impending effects of a lack of dialogue.
